oak leaves & Zentangles, 60% there
100 days turned out to be more than 100. I didn't follow the schedule and it was hard to let go of the deadline, but realistically, they were many days that I didn't even hold a pencil. But I am determined, I will finish.
What have I learned about my style?
I favor organic, representational yet not realistic forms. Layers, patterns and hidden details add to my compositions. Watercolors are my happy place, although almost any watermedia would do.
Overall, I keep learning I can do things I thought I couldn't, and that is empowering. Taking time to experiment is like taking time to meditate, it is clearing things up.
oh yeah, what is Zentangle? is a meditative way of drawing and creating patterns, 1 layer or stroke at the time. It is usually done on small square tiles and they are non-representational. It is another form of doodling.
and this is how I used the principle of pattern doodling in a piece
Come see it in person, the details are easier to pick up. Lacey White Flowers is on display at the EvergreenHealth hospital, green oncology rotating gallery.
