6x4in watercolor on hot pressed paper, Yakima WA

We took a long road trip this summer and the different areas we drove by all had their charm. Nature is simply amazing.

When we were cruising through Yakima, WA the farmed fields, were astonishing.  They were mostly green, but the shapes were what captivated my attention (above.)

As we continued our journey the layering of the hills and mountains caught my eye (below.)

and finally the winding roads juxtaposed with nature

I picked unusual color palettes for contrast and experimentation.

This may make it seem that creating on the road was easy.  It was harder to carve out space and time.  But maybe the extra constraints also inspired something different.
No experience is wasted.
