Practice, practice, practice

pencil and ink hand studies

I enjoy reading self-help books very much. There is always so much to learn, understand and put into practice.
One common thread I have noticed, in the many books I have opened, is consistency.
Consistency is not stagnant and calls for doing, small steps that propel.

Propel where? sometimes in the right direction, sometimes in the wrong path. But sometimes, the only way to know it wasn’t the right path is to try it out. Then knowledge becomes power.

Then what to do with that power? Practice, practice, practice.

I used to be a collector of information, I am now moving into putting that information into practice. At one point I felt like the more information I gathered, the better off I would be. I was living from scarcity, because it never seemed enough.

But I recognize that for me, it was a stepping stone, a preparation of sorts to be in a place where I could take action. So at the end, the time and many pens, pencils and paper where worth their use. Because I learned that I needed to do something to make that knowledge work. But goodness! realizations are uncomfortable.

Going back to consistency.
This year I am using the #100dayproject to help me tackle some older projects. The accountability of that challenge helps my consistency. So, here I go again!, want to join me?
