This is a collection of my learning in doing the 100 days project. I worked on these pieces in conjunction with the small exercises and was able to apply a lot of the experimentation and learning. I tied them with theme and color palette, with nature and orange in every piece.
Coincidently, I have visited friends there many times this year, so I got familiar with their permanent and rotating art. I have always admired the art at this hospital. It took a few years to gather the confidence and courage to finally contact them. 6 months of communication and work, and now you can see the result for about 3 months.
A big goal for this year checked off. It really is true that the more you do something the easier it gets. It sure helped that I didn't have to do the installation of this show. The hospital staff did a good job.
I am still figuring out what exactly I want to do with my art, but I am doing something I truly enjoy (the painting part), something that scares me (the showing part). It is a mixture of feelings at once, feeling vulnerable yet confident, feeling fear and peace, learning and re-learning.
But as I may have shared it before, "there is no growing in the comfort zone, and no comfort in the growing zone"
