Eclipse
Where were you on the day of the last full solar eclipse?
Our family was lucky to experience the solar eclipse totality and it was amazing!
It was like a fast-action video of a day into night, but it involved all senses. I loved how it gradually got dark in the middle of the day and how still everything was for a few minutes.
At one point all I could hear were the birds chirping and flying around, then everything was quiet. When we were able to take our 'eclipse glasses' off and see the rim's light it was magical. I felt the temperature drop, I saw it with my naked eyes, I heard the quietness after the noise, it was an experience of a lifetime.
I created this piece after studying some illustrators that put patterns into different elements and the already tinted Canson mi-teintes touch paper was a perfect dark background.
This piece is all framed and ready to go up on the Oncology rotating gallery at the EvergreenHealth hospital in Kirkland. I will let you know when it is all up.
Today, I hope you experience many wonderful moments.
