today
There was something called a Global Talent Search that issued the challenge of designing a cup, saucer, and napkin for a fictitious bakery/cafe. This was my entry composition
TODAY is about being present, noticing the details and enjoying what is in front of me. It is about a fun place where the leaves are pink, the flowers blue, and the bees are green (and don't sting). A small reminder to slow down and savor what we have now.
Here is how it all started
I drew the pieces separately with pencil, picked a color palette, and painted them with gouache (opaque watercolor). I wrote TODAY with a pointed pen in a modified-roman alphabet. Then put the final composition together in Photoshop.
I had so much fun painting this one, that I am working on hmm! let me count 4 more... overachiever!
